Saint Vincent de Paul
St. Gertrude Conference
Your Society of Saint Vincent de Paul - St. Gertrude's Conference has organized a cycling fundraiser in support of Our Neighbours in Need. It will take place on Tuesday May 25th and our team will cycle from St. Gertrude's parish parking lot to the CN Tower, a distance of 70 km. Our goal is $25,000.
The reason for the ride is the overwhelming rise in demand for food help in the city of Oshawa. Although we have had excellent support from the parish, from other conferences, the Knights of Columbus and Durham Particular Council, we feel that we should make every effort to meet future demand. Before covid we were serving 250 families. Now we are serving 475 families who call us 3 to 4 times a year for food help. 33 volunteers are delivering food and a voucher to the needy.
If you are comfortable , we would ask you to forward to your family and your friends that may be interested in supporting this event. I have attached a flier that could be posted at work or in the grocery store that you frequent. . At the bottom of the flyer is a URL https://bit.ly/33102id that can be entered on the internet. It will take you to the Canada Helps website and to our Conference donation page. A tax receipt is generated to you immediately.
You can also just click on this link, https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/society-of-st-vincent-de-paul-st-gertrudes-conference/ which will also take you to our donation page.
