The Archives department is excited to announce the launch of our new digital collection’s portal, ARCAT Online.
ARCAT Online not only provides access to our pre-1910 historical parish registers, the burial registers for St. Paul’s and St. Michael’s cemeteries, it also showcases some of the unique artifacts and other materials in our collections.
As you know, our Historical Parish Registers are invaluable records of the people who made up a parish - and collectively the Archdiocese of Toronto - at a given time. The information they contain is relevant to the past, present, and future of the Church, as well as to individuals, families, and the community as a whole.
We hope Parishes will find this new portal particularly useful, as you can now direct those researching their family trees to the site, where they can not only access these dynamic digital images themselves, they can also download PDF copies of individual pages if they choose.
You can check out ARCAT Online at https://vitacollections.ca/ARCATOnline/search as well as on our Historical Parish Registers Page on the Archdiocesan website.
ARCAT Online will always be evolving so please visit often.
We hope you find this new initiative as exciting as we do!
